Privacy policy

Last updated October 25, 2026

detached.social is a service of Ninth Vale Holdings LLC, 8 The Green, Suite B, Dover, DE 19901. This policy explains what we collect on detached.social, why, and the choices you have. Questions: morgan@detached.social.

What we collect

  • What you give us. Your name, email, phone and business details when you check out, fill in a form, or ask for a demo or audit.
  • Payment details. Card details are entered into Square's secure form and go straight to Square. We never see or store your card number. We keep a record of what you paid.
  • Logins you share at onboarding. Stored encrypted. Only the people building your system can open them, and every access is logged. We delete them when you leave.
  • Free tools and accounts. Your email, the results you save (for example the website you check or the numbers you enter in a calculator), and a sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in. Sign-in uses one-time links by email, handled through Supabase Auth; there are no passwords.
  • Newsletter and email activity. If you subscribe or use a free tool, we record which of our emails you open and which links you click (through a small image and tracked links in each email), so we can tell which emails are useful. This stays with us and is never shared.
  • Fan lists on free link pages. When you join a creator's list on a detached.social link page, we hold your name and email on that creator's behalf. The creator can see and export the list and is responsible for how they contact you. We don't email you from it ourselves. Ask the creator, or email us, to be removed.
  • Community posts. Questions and answers posted on The Commons are public pages. Your email is never shown.
  • Basic site analytics. See the next section.
  • Public business information. For outreach we look at information businesses and creators publish themselves, such as their website, public listings and public profiles. We don't buy personal data and we never send fake inquiries.

Our analytics: no cookies, no tracking across sites

We run our own analytics instead of a third-party tool. We record page views and clicks (for example, which demo pages are opened) with the page address, the referring site, the kind of device and an anonymous visitor code. That code is made from your browser details and a secret that changes every day and is then thrown away, so it can't identify you and can't link your visits from one day to the next. We don't use cookies or similar storage for analytics, we don't record your screen, we don't follow you to other sites, and we never share or sell this data.

The live demo saves your clicks in your own browser so your changes stay when you reload. That data never leaves your device; clear your browser storage to reset it.

How we use it

  • To build and run the systems you pay for, and to talk to you about them.
  • To answer questions and send what you asked for (a demo link, an audit or a free tool's result). After a demo or audit request we send at most two short follow-ups; after a free tool, a PDF or a newsletter signup, a short series of notes over two weeks and then our weekly newsletter. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe.
  • To improve our site and our messages, using the analytics above.
  • To meet legal, tax and accounting duties.

Automated replies

Some replies are sent by automated agents that answer from our own knowledge base, and we always say so. Anything they can't answer goes to a person.

Who we share it with

Only the services that run our business: Square (payments), Supabase (our database and sign-in), Cloudflare (hosting), and Zoho (email). Each handles data only to provide its service to us. We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context advertising.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct, download or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can opt out of our emails at any time with the link in every email. California residents have these rights under the CCPA, and we honor them for everyone. We don't sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of there. Email morgan@detached.social with “Privacy request” in the subject and we'll respond within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.

How long we keep it

Client records: for as long as you're a client and then as long as tax law requires. Shared logins: deleted when you leave. Leads who don't respond: deleted after 12 months, except that we keep an opt-out list permanently so we never contact you again. Free tool accounts and saved results: until you ask us to delete them, or 24 months after your last sign-in. Fan lists: for as long as the creator keeps their page, or until you ask to be removed. Analytics: 25 months.

Children

Our services are for businesses and adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date above and, for meaningful changes, tell clients by email.
